It's Market Day
in Hovingham!

Saturday 3rd October 2009

10.30am to 3pm
at the
Village Hall

The return of Hovingham's market,
after an absence of 156 years!

On offer here you will find produce,
crafts, and gifts - something for everyone

WEA course 'The Rural Idyll in Literature & Life-True or False?' in Hovingham Village Hall, 10 Mondays 1-3 p.m. from 21 September. Books will be loaned out.

Whether you are interested in the Arcadian Idyll exemplified in country house estates or for Family History reasons or books such as 'Cider with Rosie' or 'Corduroy' (Adrian Bell) or 'The Green Road to Nowhere' (Byron Rogers) or in country pastoral poets-or just enjoy country living in books or life-why not join us?

The class is attracting people from as far away as Easingwold-but we will need 10 to run. In an age of Government cuts to County Council adult ed Currently this is one of the few literary classes in Ryedale.

2010 Car Boot Sales

Hovingham has two Car Boot Sales each year,
on the Village Green

These are traditionally held on the Bank Holidays at the end of May and the end of August.
